SPELT-Structure and
Content
This English
teacher development programme is divided into two modular
phases. Both phases dovetail into each other; however,
schools can opt only for phase-1 too.
Phase-1
This phase would
focus on need- based teacher training and sustained
support to teachers as they try new ideas in the classroom.
It would include 10 sessions ranging from prose, poetry
to grammar that capsule all the 4 skills of how to teach
listening, speaking, reading and writing.
During
this phase, Srikriti faculty would also meet the participants
in focus groups to discuss, support, access resources
and work out classroom strategies. We would also help
participants create templates that would standardise
English teaching-learning process across the school.
Phase-2
This phase is critical
as it is during this time that teachers who try new
approaches will require sustained support. Srikriti
faculty will support teachers with troubleshooting,
observation and debriefing sothat the planning, teaching,
observing, reflecting and improving loop is complete.
Coordinators will attend mentoring sessions. Teachers
will be supported in finding and generating resources
that they can adapt and use.
Srikriti
will make presentation before wrapping up the project.
