Getting to know Project
CARE
Project Structure
CARE is divided into 3 phases.
All the 3 phases dovetail into each other to make a
meaningful learning loop. However, these phases are
modular and schools can opt for combinations:
- Phase-1 and 2
- Phase 2 alone
- Phase 2 & 3
Phase-1
It is an intensive, focused look at how well a school
system has been able to set directions for student accomplishment,
use available resources to accomplish those directions,
and improve its performance. We include all the stakeholders
in this process and present a detailed evidence based
deficit report to the school.
Phase-2
This phase includes
two strands.
1.
Professional development of teachers in areas identified
by the audit:
These sessions help teachers understand research backed
practices, benchmarked standards, experiment with their
new learning using resources and standardised tools
that ensure quality across the school.
2.
Restructuring:
We help the organisation fine-tune systems and processes
like organisational structure, internal communications,
teacher resources, leadership roles, job descriptions,
performance management etc
Phase-3
This phase is
critical. It too has 2 strands:
1. Supporting teachers
During this phase mentors observe teacher practice,
debrief, help her reflect and make plans of action for
improvement.
2. Training in coaching and mentoring
In this phase, school leaders will be trained in observing,
coaching and mentoring skills sothat the CARE initiative
continues after the consultants leave.
A
schoolwide presentation by the participating teachers
will wrap up this project.
Schools
that believe in reinventing, renewing themselves constantly
to excel in whatever they do have already opted for
Project CARE.
